Under the general direction of the Sr. DevOps Engineer, the QA Engineer, DevOps will be expected to broaden your skills in cloud-based software as well as robot design and operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing and debugging of existing robot systems and servers.
Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Monitor debugging process results
Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
QA test automation experience (create, use, debug, report)
Participate in testing and development of new robot operating system features
Identify and evaluate new technologies
Exercise independent judgement, curiosity, and initiative
Document software and test patterns
Consult with Product Management, QA, and field technicians to refine, test, and debut robot and other medical software systems
Knowledge, Skills & Ability
Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating system, Git, and system administration
Ability to develop and debug software in scripting language such as Ruby, Python, Bash
Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
Experience configuring and testing on any operating system
Familiarity with principles of Continuous Integration and QA
Eagerness to learn new technology
Familiarity with Selenium or other test tools
Knowledge of video and audio test methods
Familiarity with open-source testing tools
Experience in software QA
3-5 years software engineering, systems, or QA experience
Bachelors degree in software engineering or related field, or commensurate experience
2+ years direct OS engineering or support experience (Linux, Windows, etc.)
English-language written and spoken communication skills
