Software Engineer, Gateway Team

InTouch Health is the leading telehealth solution company enabling specialist physician care anytime, anywhere.  We are looking for an eager, self-starting Software Engineer, Gateway Team to join our agile development team!  You will use leading technologies such as Ruby on Rails, jQuery, and Amazon Web Services to create hosted applications (SaaS solutions) used by the most prominent telemedicine networks in the United States.  You will be performing agile development under Scrum.  The InTouch Health environment is fast paced, dynamic, and highly customer oriented.


  • Write technical specifications definition based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
  • Support, maintain, document, and write unit tests
  • Analyze code / designs to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed
  • Participate in design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements
  • Consult with Product Management to prototype, refine, test, and ship products to meet needs
  • Maintain existing code / designs, port it to new platforms
  • Participate in design and development of new features, products, and utilities

Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Experience with a server-side scripting language (Ruby preferred)
  • Experience with web application framework (Rails preferred)  
  • Experience with client-side scripting (jQuery preferred)
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Active Record)
  • Experience with scripted testing tools (Selenium preferred)
  • Virtualization knowledge (VMWare, vagrant, VirtualBox)
  • Experience with cloud development (AWS EC2, S3, SES, CloudWatch preferred)
  • Experience with Linux (proficient with command line interface)
  • Experience with Model-View-Controller and object oriented programming
  • Experience with deployment management tools (Chef preferred)
  • Experience with source code repositories (Perforce preferred)
  • Experience with Scrum and agile development


  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • English-language written and spoken communication skills
  • Mid-level foosball player (preferred)

Working Conditions

  • Working environment is in an office setting
  • Occasional travel may be required
